HDPE Underground gas service
With modern manufacturing techniques gas piping are now transported with underground HDPE ( High density polyethylene )piping.
This type of piping has a 50 year underground life and cannot rust or crack due to water or ground movement. This piping are run in the same trenching as water and other service , with specific safety distances. A tracer tape is added at a higher level to prevent damage through digging.
With either Electrofusion or buttwelded joints we are sure of a leadfree application. It is imperative that technicians are suitably qualified and use approved equipment with doing these installations.
All underground piping is pressure tested and certified by inspection authority.
GPS have laid more than 35 km of this piping at housing development over the last 8 years with great success.
